We recommend Sidmouth for a family holiday, especially the end near Jacob's Ladder; the beach is sandy and clean with rock pools and a gentle incline making it very safe for children. There are toilets and a restaurant on the cliffs above.

A stay in east Devon means that you can easily pop over the border to Dorset and more beaches at Lyme Regis or drive down the coast to Chesil beach for fossil discoveries in the Jurassic coastline.
